Jieyi’s practice centers on the generative mechanisms of narrative and images, focusing on how they operate within intimate relationships and social structures as accomplices to patriarchy and social ideology.

She uses autobiographical fiction as a method, transforming her personal experiences into an analytical tool, so that the dynamics of power relations can be observed and reconstructed.

She often works through appropriation, fiction, translation, and role-play, entering existing narratives and producing deviations and displacements within them. She also likes to use humor and satire as a way to reveal underlying structures.
